An Example of an Excellent Christmas Letter

If you need a good format for a Christmas letter, this is a perfect example.

Dear Friends and Relatives,

Ursula and I send you our warmest greetings and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. As usual, we shall celebrate with Isabel and family, here in Cos Cob. Our daughter continues selling her jewelry from her home to her customers, she just had a Christmas show here in Greenwich and one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where many people showed up to purchase for the holidays. Her husband, is working independently from home as a consultant to the social electronic communications industry, which involves a lot of travel. Their son, 17, will graduate from high school in June. He will attend Babson College in Massachusetts in the Fall. His brother, 13, as well as his other brother brother are both playing the violin in their school orchestras. Their grandmother from their father’s side, treated them for a trip to Alaska last June, where they had exhilarating experiences.

Our other daughter continues to run the Milwaukee Montessori School which keeps her plenty busy. She visits with us several times a year, sometimes in conjunction with professional meetings in New York City. Her husband, Kevin Weidman, is still active as a surgeon in Milwaukee.

Our son Michael changed employers this year since his work in South Africa ended. He moved from Paris to London where he works now as a management consultant for Collinson Grant Ltd. His wife Jane recently returned from an adventure in Africa where she managed to ascend Mt. Kilimanjaro. Their daughter Kristen,14, attends the International School in London and their son Maxwell, 20, attends the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Their daughter Erika started as a freshman at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where her father graduated from.

Our oldest son Peter has been in the South Pacific, where a friend, an airline pilot, who works there suggested that he might be needed there as a pilot. However, he didn’t find a job and he will be returning soon. He flew with other pilots and tourists to neighboring islands, over volcanoes and other sights, but is now returning to the United States.

Ursula and I visited friends in Arizona in March to recover from the New England winter. Ursula just returned from a long weekend in London where Michael and Jane showed her a good time. Ursula is still heavily involved at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, where she lectures mostly to visiting school children from various schools. She still plays the cello several times a week with friends, attends concerts, works in the garden, mowing the lawn and raking leaves. She also cooks imaginative meals and delicious cookies for the rest of us.I just celebrated my 89th birthday. My main activity is the Retired Men's Club of Greenwich, where I’m head of the investment club. Twice a week, I have exercise classes at the YMCA and after which I swim for 35 minutes in the pool. Once a week I run some errands and do the food shopping for Ursula; and that’s about my list of major activities these days.

Once again, best wishes to all of you, for the holidays and the new year.

From,
